Dear Class,

     I would like to welcome you to our second grade class!  My name is Miss Gilbert and I will be joining you in room 120.  I am so excited about starting a new school year!  During our time together we will build friendships, work cooperatively with one another, learn from each other and have lots of fun in the meantime!

     I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.  I live in Wayne. I have a son, Willem, who will be four this winter.  I have so much fun watching Willem grow and learn new things.  I also enjoy going for hikes and walks.  I often take long walks on the Radnor Trail.  I love to read.  One of my favorite authors is Roald Dahl.  One of my hobbies is photography.  I love taking pictures!  I especially like taking pictures of Will.  I also like to learn new things.  I’d like to learn more about how to draw and paint.  Another thing I would like to learn more about is gardening.

     To help us get started on our adventure together, I would love to learn something about you!  What can you tell me about yourself?  What are you interested in?  What are some things you can do really well?  What are you still learning about?  For your very first assignment, please send a letter to me and tell me all about you!

     I look forward to reading your letter and meeting you in September.  Together we will make this a great year!  Until then, I will be checking my mailbox for your letter!
